Racing age: 19 I'm looking forward to starting my second season with the elite team, my seventh season racing, and my first year as a senior racer. I have been racing bikes since I was 13 years old, with a Bianchi from Dan Casebeer, for whom I now work as a mechanic, at Grand Performance. In fact, since then I've only ridden Bianchi bikes. I previously rode for the club’s junior team, and I continue to work with them, now as an assistant coach. In the past six years as a junior racer, I have accumulated eight state championship titles in various disciplines. Some of my highlights from last season include winning the Junior Tour of America’s Dairyland, the Junior Neenah Rocket Criterium, the Junior State Time Trial Championships, and the State Madison Championships on the track. I am currently a Cat 2 rider on the road and the track.
Racing Age: 20 I am really excited to be racing with SPBRC this year. The team looks fast and I’m excited to work with the team and get some good results. This is my first full year with the elite team and it’ll be really fun to see what we can do this year. I’ve been racing competitively since I was 14, so for about 5 years. I’ve been in California racing, training, and going to school for 2015/2016 so I am excited to get back to the Midwest and race again at some more familiar races. Last year my highlight was getting 3rd at the Minnesota State Championships Road Race, but hopefully this year will bring many more.
Racing Age: 21 I am really excited to be returning back to Minnesota racing with SPBRC after a season of racing in the rocky mountains all last season. I started racing with the club’s junior team when I was 16 and have been racing for almost 5 years. I’ve been training and racing hard in Colorado over this winter in prep for what looks to be an awesome season with the team. Some of my results from last year consists of 4th RMCCC team trial and 8th in BP Pro ½ time trial.
Team director Racing age: 50 I’m excited to manage our lean and mean elite team this year. I have been racing long enough to remember Dan Casebeer as a big name rider from Illinois, and I bought my first racing bike from Steve Hed when he owned a small shop in Bloomington. I have been racing in the Pro 1,2 ranks since 1982, and rode for a number of small professional teams in the 1990s. My career highlights would include 2 top 10 placings in Elite National Championships, 20th place at 1992 US Olympic Trials, winning the 1st edition of the NorthStar Grand Prix (Tour de Wings, 1999), and racing in France with the Evreux Renault team. I am a Cat 1 rider on the road, track, and in cyclocross.
